Within the village, there is an impressive 19th century tower-house, unique for the area. It has been registered as a historical monument, including a protection zone of 50 m all around it.
This is a tower-house of the Ottoman era, which once dominated the plain and was the seat of the local agha. The complex is enclosed, including two square and two circular towers, is built from strong field-stones and is more than 10 m high. In the higher parts of the main house are battlements and small oblong slit-windows. The semi-circular tower on the west side is impressive, with an open balcony at the top, which has a wooden portico.
The building has received consolidation work carried out by the then 8th Ephorate of Byzantine Antiquities in the early 1980s, to deal with cracks caused by earthquakes.
